Description
This is an idea I’ve been toying with for a 2D Tails Metroidvania fan game. I’ve always loved the momentum physics in the classic Sonic games. It’s always felt like playing around in a skatepark. But Tails’ flight can feel sluggish at times and you can’t ball back up so you are vulnerable. Plus, the collectibles in later games can be hard to find because you don’t have a map.The basic idea is to expand on the trick mechanics from Sonic Advance 2 and 3 to give Tails more attacks and methods of traversal that don’t require you to stop moving.
The game would be open ended with metroidvania style exploration with momentum puzzles and a map. Set after Sonic 3&K, Tails would go on a solo adventure exploring old Zones that are ruins littered with Robotnik’s badniks and infrastructure.
Tails repurposes Eggman Tech and old elemental shield cores to create new inventions and learn new abilities.
