An old friend messaged me tonight. She was my best friend when were younger. She saved me from the bullies at lunch in middle school. We did everything together.She disappeared in high school. I didn’t know what happened until tonight.
Her father killed himself. She became a drug addict. She got pregnant. The baby died.
She even started doing drugs with my earlier childhood best friend while we were in high school together. I had no idea the times I saw my friend being strange in class it was heroin she was high on and not weed. I was so naive.
I had a lovely relationship with her father. I think about him from time to time. We loved to listen to music together and eat dinner. He made a lot of jokes.
He died to this song,
