Amitabh Bachchan faced several rejections before getting accepted by Indian audiences as a leading hero. He went through a series of flop movies but did not give up. While his competent performances against Rajesh Khanna, already a superstar in movies such as Anand and Namak Haram, he earned his space and with the smashing hit Zanjeer, he had clearly arrived. His teaming up with directors such as Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Prakash Mehra, Yash Chopra and Manmohan Desai helped him experiment with different approaches of story-telling. Though his first innings can impress anyone, how he rose after going through a lean patch, as an aging superstar is what defines the man's dedication to his craft and his undying spirit. He took up the opportunity of compering the Indian version of the show "Who wants to be a millionaire?" and this paved way for a sustained second innings for the superstar. Despite his achievements he remains humble and ever eager to work with young directors. What he could not do due to the compulsions of being a mass star, he is now doing by taking up unconventional scripts and leaving a mark. All along, he chose to believe in his dreams and so he seems to say that "To my dreams, I belong".
