Dates: 1/26/23-2/3/23 (Took 9 days)Artist's Notes: Commission for . These are dragonflies of Great Lakes Earth. Much like the mayflies some varieties of dragonflies are neotonous and remain in the nymph stage throughout their life. I like how these turned out and I think I've improved a lot since the last batch of insects, particulary in the wings. From left to right, top to bottom they are:
Korbac's Emerald Serpentfly: based on the serpent flies and dragon flies of the Might and Magic series
Kumo Hobgoblin: one of the varieties of dragonflies suggested was hobgoblin so I drew what I thought one might look like
Sapphire Questioning Cross: based on the Blue Oyster Cult logo
Dragonsbane Xana: based on dragonhunter nymphs
Mantis Trapjaw: an elaboration of the extending jaws of dragonfly nymphs which here have evolved into a pair of clawed arms
Stygian Swamp Scorpion: based on eurypterids
