Description THE PSYLOCKE SERIES: PART EIGHT
*May contain spoilers.*

The Series ~~> [link]

#1- While Psylocke was never mentioned in the original 1995 AGE OF APOCALYPSE x-over, she did appear in the 2005 mini-series that revisited the reality (since dubbed 295) though it should, technically, no longer exist. Now, the circumstances of Betsy becoming a telepathic British girl trapped in a Japanese ninja body were very exact twists of chance, and seem like they should be nearly impossible to replicate, as the AOA was not really an alternate universe, but an alternate timeline. You know what I mean. Still, in the 2005 AOA mini, Psylocke is, in fact, a Japanese ninja telepath, though this time with black hair and blue eyes, so it may not be Kwannon’s body.
#2- In the new WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN animated series (which is very awesome, by the way) Psylocke’s background has yet to be revealed, and she has only appeared in the first season’s episode #8, TIME BOMB. We do know that she was, at some point, held prisoner by the MRD. She was freed by Quicksilver, and therefore owes him a favor, which he calls in after kidnapping Nitro, planning to deliver him to Magneto as a weapon. Psylocke tries to repress Nitro’s explodey powers using her telepathic butterfly thing, but it doesn’t work. Later, Emma Frost kicks her ass pretty thoroughly in two shots and she has not appeared on the show since. Psylocke’s costume on the show is different from anything in the comics, and is kinda neat, still Japanese-looking but without the ninja influence so much. Also, she was designed by fellow deviant *KidKalig .
#3- Psylocke’s civvies from TIME BOMB. Her introduction proves that animated Psylocke might just have the same problem with “boundaries” that her comic counterpart has demonstrated from time to time, as she makes a meter maid eat the ticket she’s writing. I should also point out that Betsy may have already gone through her body swap on W&TX, as she is obviously Japanese, but speaks with her English accent. Interesting.

To be continued...
