THE ROGUE SERIES: PART EIGHT

Both of these versions of Rogue are from What if...? (Vol. 2) issue #66. In this alternate possible timeline, Rogue, while still a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, permanently absorbs the Avenger, Thor, killing him and taking on his powers and his enchanted hammer.

#1- Rogue remains with the Brotherhood, but her mental state is highly affected by her deadly absorption of Thor, and in an impulsive fit of anger accidentally kills her Brotherhood teammates, including Mystique. She is soon approached by Loki, who tries to manipulate her into killing Odin for him.

#2- Grief-stricken over the death of Thor, Odin is willing to let Rogue kill him, but she defeats Loki instead, and embraces the mantle of Thor. She becomes a daughter to Odin and finds happiness and purpose in this reality. I like this issue, mostly because I think it's a cool idea to combine Rogue and Thor.
