Description This is literally the view out my back door.  When I bought this house thirty years ago, all I saw was a field of grass.   Little by little it began to grow into a nurtured garden, where I would work with what I had in my head and a hammer in my hand.  Several decks and a shed and soon I was nowhere, just the place I wanted to be.

Most days before I put on my Postal uniform to start my daily duties, I would fill my last cup of coffee and with my stick in hand, I would stroll my land.  With the early morning light shining  just about right, I would take me some pictures to capture the sight.

Okay, now I am getting stupid and will probably come back to delete all of the above, but I did this ritual for a number of years, starting out with an old Sony where then I would burn them to a CD.  Then I got me a iPhone with a lot of features so I carried on my morning walks to begin the day and would take more pictures from different angles.

I recently gathered all those old cds and went on down to the drug store down the street where I picked out the ones I would keep and print.  I accumulated a shoe box full of these pictures of the evolving progress of my backyard where I cut each one up into tiny pieces creating a mosaic montage layering over and over in order for the lapse of time.  Of course wood decays and some plants wither and die but this image I tediously stitched together in ink from hundreds of tiny pieces, strategically lining them up in linear movement creating a perpetual circular whirlpool.

The black cat that is dead center up above has been with me on those walks for almost 17 years is still alive and well but  now he just lays outside my back door as he don't seem to run that much anymore.
