The title of the first Japanese dub is unknown. A Japan Times issue from 1982 only says "Engines of Eight."

The second Japanese dub was slated to be aired on January 7th, 1989, but it was cancelled due to the Emperor Hirohito's breakdown (He died one hour and twelve minutes later from the time that this episode would have been aired). That means the Japanese audiences couldn't get the proper introduction of the show. The episode was eventually aired on local television's re-run in 1993.

A Not-So VHS Rip of the episode was released in December 20th, 2023.
