Description (I know I said I wasn't going to post fanfics here anymore but I changed my mind)

----------------------------------------------
Tide flew through the freezing cold air, getting more and more tired every minute. She wasn't used to flying in such cold temperatures. This place was colder than Icestorm Island!

"Sorry, Tide..." Addison apologized, beginning to regret bringing Tide to this frozen land. "If I'd known this place was going to be THIS cold, I would've brought Frostbite instead..."

The blue Titan Sand Wraith snorted and rolled her eyes. Addison didn't usually think things out fully... While she had learned to put up with it, it still got them into trouble and it also got kinda annoying at times.

"Let's turn back. I think there's a blizzard coming this way..." Addison said, turning Tide around. The dragon was more than happy to be flying back to Berk.

The reason they had flown out so far north was because a new island was discovered and Addison volunteered to go check it out. Of course, they only sent her because she was the only one willing to go. She was pretty experienced in dragon training though so everyone thought she'd be fine as long as she stayed out of trouble. But now, Addison was starting to wish she hadn't volunteered.

Turns out, they waited too long to escape from the blizzard. As soon as they turned around, the wind began to pick up and snow was sent flying into their faces.

"Come on, Tide! We gotta get out of this storm!" Addison shouted through the wind. Tide continued to beat her wings as hard as she could, but the wind only continued to get stronger. Addison knew there was no way they could fly out now so they had to find shelter and fast. Addison looked around, and noticed a small cave below them. It was there only hope.

"Tide, dive down to that cave down there!" Addison pointed down at the cave. Tide looked where she was pointing and spread her wings to dive, but the wind caught them and sent her hurdling through the air.

"Tide!" Addison shouted, holding on for dear life. Tide roared and tried to gain control again, but it was no use. She crashed head-first into the snow and Addison felt her body fall off the dragon's back and tumble down a hill. She suddenly felt the ground disappear beneath her for a split second before feeling herself crashing onto to cold ice.

A few hours passed, and eventually Addison woke up. The blizzard had ended and she was nearly buried in snow. She instantly remembered that Tide had crashed and quickly got up to go find her. She looked around, seeing snow fields for miles and miles and a mountain behind her. She assumed she had fallen off a cliff when Tide crashed.

"Tide?" she called. No answer. She sighed and began to try and get out of the snow pile, until she heard an eerie howl come from somewhere. She froze and looked around, but didn't see anything. She could only guess it was a wolf, however it didn't seem too wolf-like. But if there were wolves, that meant trouble. She climbed out of the snow pile and looked around for safety. The cave she saw was no where in sight, so that wasn't an option. She could only hope that Tide would find her first before the wolves did.

Addison remembered Tide had crashed onto a cliff, so maybe the dragon was right above her. Addison looked up, and saw where a dragon was lying in the snow, but it looked like it had been dragged away by something.

"Oh no..." Addison muttered. She looked around, looking for a way to get to the top of the cliff. Luckily there was a snow hill that lead up onto the top. She quickly climbed up it and ran over to where Tide had crashed. Whatever had dragged her away, it must have been a dragon, because based on the imprint in the snow it looked like she was carried away into the air. Addison noticed paw prints, and sat down to get a better look at them. For a second she was scared wolves had gotten to her, but there was no blood or wolf tracks so she realized that wasn't the case. Taking a closer look at the dragon foot prints, they seemed bigger than Tide's.

What could've dragged her away...? Addison thought. Before she could continue trying to find her dragon, she saw something poking out of the snow. Picking it up, Addison realized it was a dragon scale. Not just any dragon scale, a Woolly Howl scale. Could a Woolly Howl have taken Tide? She knew a few Woolly Howls lived on Berk, and while tamed ones were loyal and pretty docile, wild Woolly Howls were known to be fierce hunters that could withstand the strongest of blizzards. Addison knew they ate fish but she wasn't sure if they ate other dragons too. She highly doubted it but there was still a chance.

"So that's where that howl came from..." Addison spoke quietly to herself. She was about to continue looking for clues until she heard something land behind her.

"Tide! You're- wait..." Addison turned around, thinking Tide had come back, but instead a large silver dragon with brown fur-like scales and purple eyes stood in front of her. Addison backed away in fear as the creature growled at her and slowly approached her. Addison looked around for an escape, but couldn't find one. She guessed the only way was to make a run for it past the Woolly Howl and run down the snow hill she had climbed up. She took a deep breath, summoning all the courage she required.

(ayy Hamilton reference)
(ok i'll shut up now)

She ran as fast as she could past the dragon, but wasn't quick enough. The dragon was startled and bit her leg, causing her to fall. She fell face-first into the snow but quickly turned around, the Woolly Howl inches away from her. It let out an angry snarl and sniffed Addison. It seemed to calm down a little, but Addison kicked the dragon away, scared it was going to kill her. She got up and immediately regretted doing that, not only she sort of felt bad about it but it only ticked the dragon off even more. It leaped at her and miraculously she managed to avoid it, but she nearly fell again. She stumbled away, looking for some sort of cover.

Addison turned around, seeing the Woolly Howl flying above her, about to shoot her. Before she could run, a loud roar was heard in the distance. The Woolly Howl withdrew its fire and turned its head, suddenly flying away. Addison sighed in relief and fell back, sitting in the snow. She checked her leg, seeing it stained in blood. The injury wasn't too serious, thankfully. Addison looked for her back, but realized she dropped it in the crash. She huffed and looked for something to help the wound in her pockets, but only found a rag. She sighed and tied the rag around her leg. She got up, trying to ignore the pain.

Addison limped through the snow, calling out for Tide. But the dragon didn't reply. She began to worry if the Woolly Howl killed her... While there was no blood where she crashed, she couldn't think of any other reason Tide was missing.

--------------------------------------------------

Hours passed by. Addison hadn't stopped looking for Tide, but now the cold was beginning to get to her. She had done her best to ignore it but now the wind was getting stronger. She coughed, starting to get sick.

"Tide!" she shouted. Her voice hurt from shouting so much. But she didn't care about her health right now, she just wanted to find some clue Tide was safe.

She sighed and stopped walking. She looked around, not seeing any sign of the Sand Wraith. Before she could continue walking, she heard wings flapping above her. She backed away when the Woolly Howl from before landed a few feet in front of her.

Addison didn't have the strength to run or fight back. She fell to her knees, unable to stand the cold any longer. She waited for the Woolly Howl to kill her.

However, she felt something cover her. She opened her eyes, seeing the Woolly Howl curled around her. Its wing covered her head, blocking the wind. Addison was extremely confused but was too exhausted to think about anything. She sighed and leaned against the dragon's back. She expected the scales on the dragon's back to feel uncomfortable, but to her surprise they were soft and managed to keep her warm. Soon, she fell asleep.
----------------------------------------------------

When Addison woke up, she looked up and saw that the Woolly Howl's wing was no longer covering her. Instead, the wing was blue and covered in green spikes and white dots. She turned her head, seeing Tide curled up beside her.

"Tide!" Addison said in surprise. Tide woke up and looked at her, happy that she finally woke up.

"You're okay!" She hugged Tide, relieved that she was okay. She felt tears rolling down her face. "I thought you were dead!"

Tide purred and wrapped her wings around Addison, happy to see her as well.

Addison looked around, realizing they were now in a cave. "Where are we?" she asked.

Tide turned her head, seeing the Woolly Howl from before walk into the cave. Tide purred and got up.

"Hey! It's you!" Addison said as the Woolly Howl walked over to them. It purred and nuzzled Addison. She laughed and gently pat the Woolly Howl's head. Addison looked at Tide, noticing she was pretty calm. Addison realized that the Woolly Howl hadn't tried to kill her; it helped her!

"So you only wanted to help Tide?" Addison asked, looking at the Woolly Howl. The dragon tilted its head. Addison smiled and petted its head. "Thank you."

Tide walked over to the entrance of the cave and looked back at Addison, wanting to head back home.

"Well, we have to go now." Addison said as she stood up and walked over to Tide. She looked back at the Woolly Howl. "Goodbye, and thanks for the help!"

Addison hopped onto Tide's back, and the blue Sand Wraith took into the air. It was still really cold but there were no blizzards coming thankfully. The sun was shining through the clouds and the sky was a bright blue. Everything finally seemed to calm down.

Suddenly, Addison heard a growl come from somewhere. She turned her head and saw the Woolly Howl flying beside them.

"You want to come with us?" Addison asked. The Woolly Howl happily roared and nodded.

"Well, if you're gonna come with us, we should probably think of a name for you!" Addison said. She began to think. Suddenly, the name "Ookami" came to her. It apparently meant wolf, though she didn't know how she knew that. But it still seemed to fit. "I think Ookami suits you!"

The Woolly Howl gave a roar of approval. "Ookami it is then!"

------------------------------------------------------------

When they got back to Berk, everyone was surprised to see that Ookami had followed Addison back.

"So you kicked a Woolly Howl in the face?" Alice asked as she put medicine on Addison's leg and bandaged it up.

"I do stupid things when I'm scared!" Addison whined, feeling embarrassed. "Everybody does!"

Ookami was doing surprisingly well. He got along great with the other dragons and was acting like a huge puppy. All the dragons seemed to like him, except for Blare who was wary of the new dragon. Of course, he had his fair share of trouble.

"Ookami no!" Ellith shouted as she chased said Woolly Howl around the Great Hall. She had been fixing Nether's saddle but Ookami managed to steal it. "That's not a chew toy!"

"Ookami, drop it!" Addison said sternly as she stood up. Ookami looked at her and snorted, dropping the saddle onto the ground. Ellith picked it up, holding it away from him. He ran off to find something else to do.

"You should probably head back to Dragon's Edge and rest, you have a really bad cold." Alice suggested.

"I told you, I'm- ACHOO!" Addison was cut off when she suddenly sneezed. Embla, Leroy, and Keldan, who were sitting at a table nearby, jumped in surprise. "... I'm fine.."
Addison finished.

Ookami walked over to Addison and sniffed at her injury, letting out a sad purr. He looked up at her and gently nudged her arm.

"It's okay, it wasn't your fault." Addison reassured him, petting his head. The Woolly Howl purred.

"I'm surprised he trusted you so easily." Ellith spoke up, walking over to them. "Although, he is young. Usually Woolly Howls are still with their family around his age. He must have been lonely if he managed to trust you."

Addison looked at Ookami. She began to wonder why he wasn't with his family if he was supposed to still be with them. Had he lost them when he was younger?

"Well, now he has you and Tide." Alice said, giving her a reassuring smile. Addison smiled and looked back at Ookami, who was now chasing Tide around.

"Guess you could say you COLD have died if it wasn't for him?" Keldan suddenly interrupted.

"Oh shut up Keldan!" Addison laughed along with the other dragon riders.
