Description
The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning IIs are in service in both the Air Force, and Navy. The Air Force operates only the land based F-35A variant, while the Navy operates both the STOVL F-35B, and CATOBAR F-35C variants. The F-35A's are going to replace older F-16C Block 30/32's in service with the Air Force. The F-35Bs have replaced all active duty Navy AV-8B Harrier IIs. And lastly the F-35C's are replacing F/A-18 E/Fs.

Of each variant, the following are in service:
F-35A: 108
F-35B: 20
F-35C: 24 (With an additional 25 planned to be delivered)
