I can sorta understand why Lightning's cooking would be... subpar, compared to Serah's. As a soldier, she's undoubtedly been trained and conditioned to just be satisfied with having ANY food in her stomach; taste and flavor are irrelevant when you're in the field and your options are limited. She's also probably more used to field rations, things like MREs (Meal, Ready-to-Eat), where about 99% of the preparation is already done and all you have to do is heat it up and consume it. As opposed to actual cooking, which requires a lot more time, effort, and training/skill.
Squall and Cloud are probably stoic enough that they could eat Lightning's cooking without complaint. Not saying they'd ENJOY it, just that they'd have the tact/grace to not tell her it sucked to her face. Bartz and Zidane would probably be chipping in to the pizza fund, if not outright sabotaging the meal before it hit the table.
