And I think that a crossover isn't impossible... but can you imagine? 493+ Pokemon and over 9000 Digimon in the SAME PLACE? It would mean the universe would require a reboot.

To be honest, I don't know how many Digimon there currently are... but I recall back when there were 151 Pokemon, Digimon was said to number at 500... There have been a lot more Digimon games and TV series since then... so no idea.

Increase that numbers: Pokemon: 493 normal species. It means, the double counting shiny, plus some alternate forms (There are 1 or 2 Pokemon with 6 alternate forms... 2, Rotom -Platinum only- and Castform)
