Description And they'll bury them side by side;
To few it'll be grief
To the law a relief
But it's death for Bonnie and Clyde.

By Bonnie Parker, 1934

Some considered the notorious Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow folk heroes, Robin Hoods who robbed the rich and gave to the poor. Others saw cold blooded killers who robbed small gas stations and stores, and murdered anyone who got in their way. They were pop culture icons. People eagerly read the newspaper stories about their exploits. Women copied Bonnie’s clothing style. If they were alive today, they would have a huge Instagram following. Through it all: injuries, gun battles, car crashes, always on the run from the law, they were inseparable until early one morning the law left 167 bullet holes in their car. Bonnie was hit by 53 bullets; Clyde by 51. This pattern was made from a photo found by police at an abandoned hideout Bonnie and Clyde in March 1933.

I invite you to visit my etsy shop, www.floss-flash.com, where this and other embroidery patterns created from vintage images can be found for download. Find patterns you won't see anywhere else - medieval, from the sacred to the profane; turn of the century risqué French postcards of both women and men; and arcana, such as Tarot cards.

I researched and adapted this image for use in hand embroidery. The pattern is for personal use only. Please do not sell the pattern, either individually or as part of a collection.
