Description Medical officer's log.

We are currently over an unidentified Class-M planet...in a system with three of them.  I looked in the records, and its unidentified because the last starship to visit here over two hundred years ago, the T'Soraal, conducted a remote survey of the system, and reported that the system wasn't worth the cost of developing, despite recording an inhabited planet.

So, here we are.  In orbit, with a portion of the crew below on shore leave, and I've got one of the natives in my sickbay.  I pulled out seven arrows out of her.  The patient suffered from multiple pneumothoraces, primarily due to the five arrows sticking through her chest cavity, one through the meaty part of the thigh, and one through her right knee.  Internal damage from the arrowheads included multiple punctures to both lungs, perforated colon and liver, and muscle tissue damage.  We've regrown and replaced her organs with stem cell grown replacements, reknitted her thigh muscles and hamstring, and replaced her damaged knee.  I've also inoculated her against the various bugs floating around the ship that she has not encountered before, and also took care of a couple of nasty bugs that slipped through the biofilters.  The microbiology folks were thrilled about those.

Our patient is currently sleeping.  Once she awakens, we'll be able to find out more from her.  I hope.

Log Addendum.

Some of my staff are calling her a 'proto-Vulcan'.  However, I think that identifier is incorrect.  While her ears may indicate an ancestral lineage to Vulcan, her anatomy and physiology is certainly not.  Her blood is iron-based, not copper, and her organ locations meet the criteria for a more human ancestor.  As a significant indicator, if her heart was where it would be in a Vulcan, the arrow that pierced her liver would have killed her and I would have been conducting an autopsy, and not lifesaving surgery.
