Description
I've wanted to have a go at drawing 's Eltanin for a while now, and his recent release of pt. 1 of "Vault of Infinity" provided a good opportunity to do so. Not the most dynamic picture I've drawn, but the opening scene of two Toa navigating through a dark sea shrouded in fog in a rowboat was something that stuck with me and I figured was worth drawing nonetheless. The focus here is obviously on Eltanin, whose head in particular was a fun challenge to work out. The re-styled Pakari features a tricky set of curved and rounded features and the 'ponytail' assembly is something that I've never done before. Also, it's been a while since I've drawn any characters whose natural color palette is on the lighter side of the spectrum; silver, gold, and white shade differently from my usual dark greys and, in Bionicle terms, "Metru colors." I suppose I could use more practice with fog too, but I'm quite okay with it for now.Related content

It may not be your most dynamic but it looks like it's the most atmospheric, if I was a premium member I'd set this as the opening thumbnail to part 1. I enjoy how it looks like if Miramax made a movie adaptation, it has that expertly shaded and light-sourced feel that a cgi production has. The subtle glow of the eyes and brains in the fog is awesome, and I like seeing the gear on Yotun's back, and the fact the boat is just like a MNOG one.
I ought to keep working on depicting other characters from this story and writing part 2. This is also the first time Yotun's ever got fanart! He looks badass and I love that you took the effort of making his mask shine brighter than Eltanin's to show his is silver c:

Interesting that you brought up the Miramax movies; I actually took a lot of inspiration from those when developing my style, so I'm glad the echos are noticeable . I'll be working on incorporating the gears more in the future, too, but they're a bit of a pain to do with the intricate surfaces on the teeth... anyways, glad you like it

It makes me wonder if you might end up doing another illustration in the future, granted I actually get some more concepts of the characters done so people know what they look like.

Well, I draw what I'm interested in, and there's always commissions. We'll see what the future holds...
