Old art redraw! this time some fanart the OG Upgrade from Ben10. Upgrade was my favorite back then! and I think I drew this around the time the series was only a few episodes in.

Sense then and looking back now I feel like the series kinda did my boy dirty... Upgrade has raw versatility and lots of potential but he was often relegated to being a tool for Ben to deal with technology or comic relief... we did see a few glimpses of Upgrade's potential but it just never really was allowed to pan out... the lasers he made from his eye, the hard light spikes he made as a motorcycle, still controling technology while not fully covering it etc. he got left behind. abandoned for 2 series. and suffered from like 3 ever worsening redesigns... poor guy.

I originally had just drawn him running but this time I drew him ready to fight! having assimilated a plumber rifle into his left arm and producing some energy knuckles on his right! sure he won't match up to like heat blast or 4arms but he still had plenty of combat potential!

lol I guess I always kind of felt that way about him. I do believe several of my own characters take heavy inspiration from Upgrade and the potential I saw in him but never got fleshed out in any of the 5 serieses
