Before Peggy could leave, Sara acted, moving quicker than Peggy remembered. She produced cuffs from under the divan, clasping them about her wrists, in front. With her other hand she pulled a rag that had sickly sweet smell to it, clamping it over her mouth and nose.
"Your first pair of handcuffs. Memories...."
She was too busy fighting Sara to even try a retort. Or was she half-fighting? She never was good at resisting her charms. And now she was unable to do much, again. Becca would give her quite a tongue lashing, except Becca was tied to a pole, no doubt complaining into her stuffed and gagged mouth. The thought made her chuckle. Everything seemed cozy, and it would all be ok.
No! She had to fight it! But as she glanced down into the massive rag over her mouth, she wondered if the chloroform would affect her eyes? It seemed like it, cause her vision was going hazy. Muscles were going slack too. Then with startling clarity she could see Sara's nails, painted red, holding the rag. She missed a small spot. Then out of the corner of her eye, just beyond reach in a shadowed doorway, she thought she saw movement. Then it was dark.
