inspired by the works and style of Hieronymus Bosch and his grotesques paintings...i have read that there is speculation as to the reason or rationale to his images apart from the implied religious narrative overtures that he might have been effected by consuming wheat or rye that had been contaminated with Ergot fungus ...in other words he might have been mildly hallucinating while painting his works...this is the same thing (or nearly so) that took place during the Salem Witch Trials
