Ramlethal Valentine wasn't exactly one for words. She stared silently at the item placed before her. It appeared to be edible, but she could tell by the look of it that this object was not beneficial to her health. It was a slab of meat packed into a circular shape, covered in a yellow substance, and sandwiched between two pieces of bread. Her sister said these were "Buns". She gave it a whiff, to make certain that this...thing was safe for consumption. It certainly smelled appetizing, that much was certain. But something about it felt...wrong. She had no idea how to respond to the junk that her sister had put on her plate.
"Sister?"
"Yes Rammy?" said Elphelt. Ramlethal's sister sat on the other side of the table, waiting patiently for Ramlethal to try the food. Her hands were folded neatly over each other, and her tableware was untouched. A similar meal was on her plate, but it was accompanied by a pack of yellow sticks, and couple packets labeled "fancy ketchup."
"What is this. Why is it here." Ramlethal asked flatly. Her tone indicated annoyance, but Elphelt knew her well enough to know that it was simply curiosity.
"It's a burger! I brought it to your cell so you could try some human food." Her body language loosened up a little now that Ramlethal had initiated a conversation with her.
"I see. "Burger."Sister, please tell me. What is the purpose of this "Burger?"
"Purpose?"
"Yes, purpose. Up until now everything you have brought to my cell has had nutritional value. But this "Burger" has none of the qualities the previous meals had. It is laden with grease, and this yellow substance-"
"Cheese."
"...cheese, does not add anything to this "Burger."
"Well of course it adds something! Flavor!"
"Fla...vor?"
"You know, like taste! Listen Rammy, not all food is about nutrition. Sometimes, humans eat things just because they taste good! You have to treat yourself sometimes."
"Even if the food proves detrimental to their health?"
"Especially if it proves that!"
Ramlethal looked at the burger again. And then back her sister. Ramlethal had a basic understanding of human energy conservation, and that Valentines operated with a similar system. Elphelt was clearly storing an abundance of energy. Actually, she had been stockpiling energy at a steady pace since these eating sessions became commonplace for the sisters. Elphelt's dress was tight around her breasts, which had doubled in size over the last 4 sessions (she counted). Her arms were fluffier and her face was rounder. When her sister was standing up, her midsection was also visibly larger. It was smaller than her chest, but whenever her sister took her seat, it rolled into 3 smaller sections. This new shape blended well with her warm and welcoming personality. Frankly, it made it easier for Ramlethal to talk to her.
Were these "burgers" the cause of Elphelt's size? Well, they obviously played a part, but it was still too early for Ramlethal to confirm her hypothesis. She still did not know the amount of energy per burger, the rate of energy storage, or if burgers were sole source of Elphelt's energy. The idea of storing too much energy was not an attractive one to Ramlethal. It would decrease her combat efficiency exponentially. But she was not willing to refuse her sister's goodwill...
"Very well. I will partake in your "Burger." She concluded. She had decided that this was the most efficient method to please her sister while also testing her hypothesis. Worst case scenario, she would have to burn a little excess energy with in-cell exercises.
"Oh thank you thank you thank you Rammy-chan! I promise you won't be disappointed! I picked it from the most popular burger joint I could find! It's really tasty, especially the meat! No no wait, you seem like more of a pickle girl. Do like pickles? I could get you some next time I'm down, its no problem! Ohhh I can't wait to share these experiences with you! We could have pizza, and potato chips, and chocolate, and-"
"Elphelt."
"Right. Sorry." She bowed her head a little, embarrased by her sudden outburst. The slightest of smiles crossed Ramlethal's face. She could respect Elphelt's passion for the things she cares about. Though the things themselves tend to be a little...questionable.
"Mmph." Ramlethal took a sizable bite out of the "Burger." It was juicy and soft, easy to chew. Compared to the food Ramlethal had experienced thus far, this was the most savory. The "cheese" complimented the meat of the burger without overpowering the meat's presence. Elphelt was right. Though she knew that the food she was consuming was not good for her, she still felt compelled to take another bite. And another one after that. Before long, she had finished the "Burger" and was left feeling full and satisfied. If it was not nutritional, it was, at the very least, satiable.
"Well?" Elphelt asked, eagerly awaiting Ramlethal's opinion.
"It was good."
