I never pick up my own cats by the scruff of the neck, but it's the correct way of handling them. It's how their mothers carry them when they're kittens. It looks uncomfortable for the cat, but apparently it isn't.Β

When they were kittens, my cats often used to climb up me, clinging to my clothes with their claws as if I was a tree. I'm glad they don't do it now as both the cats AND their claws are much, much bigger now.Β
