I had a fun Halloween this year! My house has curtainless windows next to the front door, so I would stand in the window while I waited for trick-or-treaters to come to the house. A handful mistook me for a Halloween decoration, and were rightfully surprised when I opened the door.

My mom isn't the biggest fan of creepy things, and she was afraid my costume would scare the really little kids. Fortunately, all the really little kids were either with their parents or older siblings, so they had someone to "keep them safe" so to speak. There was one that came to the door alone and I could tell was very unsure. I took off my mask and assured them enough to take a piece of candy. I'm a firm believer that Halloween should be equally creepy and safe; if that means I need to break the illusion for a moment or two so someone stays out of danger, then I'll happily do so.

As an annual tradition of mine, I'm currently watching "Nightmare Before Christmas" before I hit the hay. It's the perfect film to end the season. Happy Halloween everyone.l!
