I'll probably do an actual head shot later because... this just looks funny.

ANYWAY.

Name: Tanin (Tay-nin)

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Species: Leviathan

Job: He best qualifies as a Merchant. More info in ‘talents’.

Talents: Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians; the bulk of what Tanin sells is poison, mostly to assassins, and most of his poison is made from snake venom. He often has a living snake with him, usually in his bag. (…So yeah. Don’t stick your hand in there. 8I )
Toxicology goes hand in hand with the herpetology. Toxicology is the study of poisonous substances on the (human) body; Tanin mainly deals in venom and other naturally occurring poisons.
Fleeing the scene. Uh. Yeah. He’s capable of defending himself decently, but prefers to run away from a fight or conflict. |D HE’S DERN GOOD AT IT.

Personality: Tanin is socially retarded. |I He’s not big on approaching people of his own accord, let alone making and keeping friends. If it’s not business related, it will be intensely awkward for him; he won’t let it show, however, and will try and be nice. C: Long term relationships (friendship or romantic) aren’t really his thing as he’s only ever been in one, and that ended miserably. Although he’ll seem like a decent guy to most, he doesn’t have many morals and most likely won’t go out of his way to help someone free of charge, acquaintance or not.

History: Tanin is from a small island way off the coast of Lumeria; an island with a heavily divided population all fighting for more land than the others. There were three main groups, one of which Tanin’s father lead, and all three were run like mafias; one person on top, they’re closest cohorts, and anyone useful. (the ‘useless’ ones were generally thrown out of the main city and lived in their own little villages along the borders where they were often caught in the crossfire) It was tradition that a leader’s offspring would take over in the event of death, and since Tanin’s older sister wanted nothing to do with the fighting, it would be left on him. The opposing groups made a secret pact to get rid of the third, which involved taking out the whole family, starting with the leader’s offspring, to assure a brief time of chaos in the city while they attempted to choose a new leader on their own. However, it was easier said than done. After the first few assassination attempts, Tanin (who was only 7 when they started) shut himself in his home and refused to leave. This went on for years, and Tanin was in near constant fear. The last straw was when an assassin somehow got into the home and killed Tanin’s mother while trying to get to him. Not long after, his sister, whom had actually been off the island unlike most, convinced a friend to take Tanin, who was 14 at the time, to the mainland where he was given a new name (no he will never tell you his real name oTL ) and was adopted into a family. This, of course, is all a secret, and he’s never spoken of it to anyone.
After settling in, he still spent most of his time indoors and away from people. (This is also when he started getting interested in snakes which eventually lead to his profession.) He had never had any real friends before, and didn’t have any idea how to interact with strangers. He gradually started to see that Lumeria wasn’t anywhere near as dangerous as his homeland and eventually grew comfortable with leaving his new home. The family he lived with owned an inn which he eventually worked at to help out. He only worked there for a little over two years, but in that time he grew much more comfortable around strangers, although there was always this paranoia in the back of his mind that someone from the island would happen to walk into that particular inn and recognize him.
Since then, he almost never stays in one place for long. He has a place in Lumeria, but prefers to travel.

Additional Info:
-He claims to be bisexual, but is scared of women and has never been with one. oTL
-The snake in a jar he carries around was the first snake he ever happened upon. When he went to pick it up, it bit him and he instinctively pulled it off, yanking out all its teeth. He felt so bad he tried to keep it alive himself, but it eventually died because it wouldn’t eat. GUILT IN A JAR.
-On his neck there you can see two black thingies; it’s the very top of his tattoo --> [link] (shitty pic oTL)
He’ll tell you it’s a cultural tradition to get a tattoo of a gijinka’s respective animal, but in actuality it’s the aftermath of his first drinking game. :/
-Almost everything he’ll say about himself is a lie, if you haven’t noticed. oTL
