You really only play them for the IDEA of them.They don't excel at usefulness in any particular area. 8D They do have one of the best designs though.

They make me think of dragons-- fleet and powerful! Easily one of my favorite physical-oriented classes in the game
(also lancers can deal massive damage with little damage dealt to them so that's why I like them)
