Description Shinha was not blatantly upset when he became lost. It was a cold day already, and the heavy clouds hanging outside of his prison den inevitably dragged his thoughts and spirits down, down to memories of a time when all he might accomplish in a day would be to spend his hours with Wren by the sea, watching the storms rolling in….

He missed her. He missed her dearly. It was such a deep longing that sometimes it felt like a sharp bone caught in his throat. Yet, when the choice had been offered to him, he had chosen to come here to Kol, not to Taika - if there was anything left - if she was even still there.

But he hadn’t gone to her. He’d come here, to Kol. To Malaysia. He’d come to everything that his childhood friends had hated and reviled. Why?

As he watched the mist move outside of the den’s entrance, creeping in, he thought he understood. It was something secret: hidden. The inner workings of the Kol, their dealings with magic, were more fascinating to him by far than his friends’ pact. In his own way he too had outgrown the group, and that more than anything struck him to his core. Why did things have to change?

He was able to leave the prison den to urinate, and it was during one of these times that he found himself wandering in circles with his guards through the mist trying to get back. They finally, by calling out and stumbling blindly, ran almost headlong into the prison den. Shinha was quickly escorted back in.

The moment felt in a way a perfect reflection of his innermost heart, and it stayed with him long past that night.
