he was kinda inspired by a teacher from my school who also cant walk very well due to one of his knees kinda..bending inwards
but he doesnt have a walking cane he could walk properly but seems uncomfortable because hes limping one leg with knees bending inwards
Anyway, here's Douglas, a boy for Sage (cant find the reference from angeliachristie04 )

He cant walk very well due to rarely coming out as a human, but he can still do well in sports, he could breathe both air and underwater but usually likes drinking water while being human just so he could feel better.
He wasnt very confident about himself after feeling useless that he cant save his parents from humans. He isnt very sociable due to being bullied alot by humans and scared they will find out what he really is
As a merman, he's a loyal soldier to the rulers, a bodyguard and close friend with the princess, but they never thought of being together as a couple no matter how many times they were convinced to do so -w-, they tried but felt like its better to stay as friends

Makes sense that he can't walk well on land, and that he's bullied for being different. Β In my encounters with merpeople in fiction, they have several ways of growing legs and blending in with humans.... but they are never quite as graceful as when they are in the water, swimming with their tails.
