Description 'Obnoxious-windbag-to-slimy-animal' is a spell all witches know, ghostly or not. Some of you might wonder what the rules are with this spell concerning clothing — why do the cane and hatbox remain behind, while the hat is miniaturized to fit the new form and the rest of the clothing simply vanishes? These kinds of discrepancies pop up all the time whenever a character in fiction gets transformed, but I actually have an explanation. Leota's spell doesn't actually turn people into frogs: it was a general spell to force an imagined form onto the target. Therefore, Leota simply pictured Hattie turning from his usual self into a 'Hattie-like frog', complete with hat, and didn't bother thinking about the cane and hatbox, hence why they don't get magicked away. Does that make sense?
