I smiled, as I stood in the snow with Dave, letting the flurries get caught in my hair and on my clothes. Even if it was Valentines Day, it was snowing. I giggled, twirling in the white powder, while Dave just stood there, acting as if he was too cool to have fun. "Daaaave. Dance with me!" "(F/n), dancing in the snow in neither ironic nor cool." I puffed my lip out, and gave him puppy eyes. I walked over, and placed a kiss on his cheek. "Pleeeeeaaaaasssseee? It is Valentines Day. You can let loose and be not so cool for one day, Dave." I saw the smallest of blushes come across his face, as he sighed. "Fine." He placed his hands on my hips, as I placed mine on his shoulders. Slowly, we began to square-dance. I swore I saw bro peek out the window, but I might have imagined it. "Dave?" I saw one of his eyebrows raise, showing me I had his attention. "Can I take off your shades? Just for today?" He was silent for a while, still moving in tune to me. But then, he nodded, and pulled a hand away so he could slide them off. He clipped them to the front of his shirt, returned his hand, and locked eyes with me. I nearly gasped at their beautiful ruby red (AN: I'm sorry but I love rubies x.x) coloring, and I could see my own (e/c) orbs being reflected in them. He didn't look away, and neither did I. The only reason I'd came over to his house today was because I didn't have a date to the school dance, and he was too cool to go. I wondered..... Slowly but surely I leaned in, till our faces were only a few inches apart. I let my eyes soften, and I tilted my head to the side slightly. I saw realization dawn on his face, and he leaned in, gently pressing his lips to mine. I thought he would pull away momentarily, but instead he pushed against mine more, allowing our lips to mold together. We stopped dancing, and just stood like that, molding against each other. Or well, for a bit we did, up till Bro came out. "Hey! No sex on the lawn Dave. The neighbors might want a show, but not that much of one!" I felt my cheeks burn darkly, as did Dave's. We pulled apart, me spluttering and Dave gaping at his brother speechlessly. Bro was chuckling, and I stormed after him, trying my best to beat the older Strider with a broom.

*Timeskip to late that evening*

After the kissing incident, I had gone home, and couldn't get the image out of my mind. My fingers ran over my lips, reminding me over and over again of how perfectly Dave's had molded to them.. I jumped as I heard the doorbell ring. Hurrying down the stairs, I opened the door to a package. It was a rather large box of chocolates, in the shape of a record, and had the image of one on it too. Along with it were a pair of Dave's well known shades, a bundle of red and orange roses, and finally a note. I picked the items up and set them on the table near the door, and opened the note. What I didn't expect was that Dave was standing nearby, and began to read what he had said. "Dear (F/n), you may not be ironic, or anything near it, but you are the most beautiful woman I have seen in my entire life, and you have been my friend since we were young. You stood by me at times when I needed someone, and even time when I didn't. I used to think of you as just a friend, but I can't anymore and I haven't been able to in a while. When I think of your name... I think of the girl I want to be with. The girl I want to be able to wake up to and say I love you to, even if that isn't cool or ironic. So I hope you'll accept my asking to be your guy. Love, Dave."
