Well, this has so many layers it almost made Photoshop crash several times - it would freeze up and start acting wonky. I tried to get the arena to look like they were describing, with the balcony and not making it too fancy and stuff like that, but I don't know how well I did. Anyway, I did my best! Advice for the crazy layers thing!
With bigger images I've had to separate the background from the main character. Basically I draw the character first, make a layer from the visible image, and than transfer it onto a new canvas which will be the background. You don't lose any resolution but half the layers will be gone!
