Always a risk for mermaids out in open waters are the nets of fishermen and sailors waiting to ensnare them whether through accident as a bycatch or intentionally caught as sport.

Don't worry, no man would ever put a mermaid in actual danger lest they incur the wrath of the sea itself. They'll be released unharmed back into the ocean once the lucky fishermen to have caught them have taken a few pictures as proof of their big catch. It's always a bit humiliating for mermaids to be hung up by their tails but Thalassa is quite used to this and is rather nonchalant about the whole thing. Being treated as a trophy fish is a new experience for Cindy, Jessie and Noriko however, who are quite embarrassed at being strung up and suspended by their tails as strangers take pictures.
