Description Roy Harper artwork for for her fan site you can see here [link]

My favourite of all of Roy's costumes and I wish that they'd use this in the regular DCU. Hopefully one day they will. And yeah, he's my favourite character in the Animated Young Justice cartoon along with Robin, obviously. Looking forward to seeing more of him kicking ass and taking names!

Enjoy

UPDATE: Added a background colour. Thought it made him pop a little more than it did with a white background.

Yeah it's like people that claim to be experts on the X-men from watching the movies. It can get annoying, but thats how it goes I guess.
So how many of the old Titans (New Teen and Tales of) have you got? I think you'd be impressed with my collection

Haha yeah, I wanted to be Grayon, Roy was my second choice Roy was more forward with the chicks. And my first comic crush was Donna Troy, especially in the issue "Who is Donna Troy?" and I knew what Dick felt like when in there, he said he always loved her.
But in the end, over time I kinda became like both of them, but I'm more like Roy when he was flirtatious and hooked up with different chicks all the time, but still a good person who cared about those close to him.
I also wanted to be Indiana Jones

Haha, you wanna be a housewife?

Hmm... I love how Chou-Roninx drew her. I dunno, I'd maybe stylize her boots more and make them black/blue, just to add a little more variation to her look. Maybe make the smaller stars solid, I'd have to test them and see how they look. And not sure how her hair should look. Loose is cool but so is the ponytail. Those are my initial thoughts. And maybe mke her skirt have a slightly different cut and have her have shorts underneath, the way Jamal Igle draws Supergirl.

What'cha think?

I've got some trades of NTT hanging around -- namely Judas Contract and Who Is Donna Troy? (dunno why I've kept them, though). But mostly I have the Fab Five comics, as well as the ones where Lilith and Mal joined the team. Those are my favourites.

In fact, if I were to make a Teen Titans animated series (as I totally wish I could, or at least an animated series-ish comic run), I would choose that roster for the team -- Robin, Speedy, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Wonder Girl, Omen, and Herald -- with Hawk and Dove, and Bumblebee, sometimes helping out. It would be modern-day, of course. The way Young Justice is portrayed, rather. And I've actually thought of 'revamps' for all of the characters that I personally think are pretty cool. But I'll stop before I wear out my welcome in conversation... XD;;

Indiana Jones is awesome! I love the Indiana Jones movies. I really like to watch them with my dad.

Yes, I want to be a housewife. Is there something wrong with that?

Hm, I think I'd have to see it to get a better idea of what it would look like. But as far as I can imagine from your descriptions, I think I like the idea of the boots being more stylised.

Nice! I've got almost all the NTT and TTT issues and some trades. Did you read any of the Tales of the Teen Titans issues?

I never really liked Lilith, she was way too emo for me back then and I don't think I have any issues with Herald in it so I know nothing about him.
You should totally draw all your revamps of the characters, I'd love to see them and see what you come up with, especially since your Donna costume is so awesome.

Indy is the best

Nope, nothing wrong with that. You just hardly hear any women these days that want to be at home 'is all. Guess I better get rich soon then huh so I can support us both then I can make you my housewife haha. Kiddin

I'll give it a bash sometime to see how it turns out. I do so love the skirt and boots

xiaoniao In reply to sean-izaakse [2011-05-22 11:40:25 +0000 UTC]

I think I have one of the Tales of Starfire. I got it way back when, before I had learned enough about her to dislike her as much as I do.

Lilith wasn't so bad. I don't know what issues you've read with her -- maybe she became emo later on -- but the ones I have, she's very calm and wise, but also sweet and caring. And Mal, well, from the issues I've read, he's a very tough, independent, but good-natured guy. And I adore Mal/Karen, and I like Lilith/Gnarrk, but I've always kind of thought Mal and Lilith would have been cute to just go out with each other for a while. At least, the way I picture them, it would be.

Maybe I will, at that. And I'll put descriptions of their power/personality revamps in the artist comment? Maybe it will get some attention and give me inspiration. ^^

I know, very few women just want to be housewives these days. But it's what I want. I mean, I'd like to work on artwork and crafts at home, maybe sell some of my stuff (like sewn crafts and candles), but I'm not aspiring to be in an office somewhere. Even though I totally respect women who do, it's not my calling.

Oh, my! Well, if you're offering.

Sounds great!

sean-izaakse In reply to xiaoniao [2011-05-22 13:24:19 +0000 UTC]

Oh, not the spotlight issues. I meant the Tales of the Teen Titans, which pretty much started once Dick Became Nightwing

Ah, nah, I remember Lilith be very quiet and almost, afraid of her powers or summin. It was a long time ago so my memory is a bit foggy. Are you going to get the new Hardcover coming out of the Teen Titans by Perez and Wolfman called Games?? I. Cannot. Wait. Gonna be awesome!

Yeah man, go draw them and do write ups in the comment section, I'd love to check them out!! Inspiration is good, I'm lacking a little of that at the moment.

Huh, nuthin wrong with that, whatever makes you happy

Oh my indeed Well, mebbe

xiaoniao In reply to sean-izaakse [2011-05-22 22:08:22 +0000 UTC]

Oh, yeah. Those were Spotlight -- sorry. It's been such a long time since I've dared to touch a Wolfman-Perez Titan issue with a ten foot pole. XP I've read some issues after Dick became Nightwing, though? Does that count?

I'm sure Lilith's personality changed in bits with different writers. That always happens in comics, with any character. And, no. Like I said, I don't touch Wolfman-Perez comics with a ten foot pole. Sensing the question beforehand, here's why: because they couldn't write/illustrate three pages together without shining the spotlight on Starfire and making her the centre of attention when it was totally out of place to do so, and it's terribly annoying. I've seen it again and again in the issues I already have. It kills the rest of the story and characters. It's just...hard to read their stuff without knowing that Wolfman and Perez were fapping to Starfire the whole time. But if you're looking forward to it, then that's good. To each his own. ^^

XD All right -- I'll start with that picture of Donna I promised.

Aww, thank you.

Oh my!

sean-izaakse In reply to xiaoniao [2011-05-22 22:18:46 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yeah those count. I mean if you read the end of the Judas Contract, I think he he was Nightwing in that too at the end.

Oh really? I never really noticed to be honest. I always felt that they catered more to Changeling and Cyborg more than anyone else. Still, I don't think all the issues were like that. And their writing couldn't have been that bad, cos you still became a fan right
I'll give Games a read and let you know if they still pander to Starfire a lot. But I don't think they will considering the roster in the book.

You, get cracking pretty lady ^^

You're most welcome hun

Hehe... *wink*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xiaoniao In reply to sean-izaakse [2011-05-23 02:22:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've read Judas Contract. Of all the characters Wolfman and Perez created, I do at least like the Wilson family. They're awesome. And yes, Dick was Nightwing by the end of that run. He actually donned the Nightwing costume right after all of the other Titans had been kidnapped.

Not everybody notices, apparently...I don't know how, though. It's kind of hard to miss, for me. XP No, I didn't become a fan. In fact, reading the Wolfman-Perez comics was what turned me off from that roster of the Titans, big time. They just...ruined everything, in my opinion. In fact, I found them to be rather unprofessional -- because they had the nasty bad habit of putting in characters and scenarios just to self-fulfill sexual fantasies. Again, only the Wilsons were impressive to me.

Yes, sire. I'll get cracking as soon as my household chores are done. No, really. I need to help clean up the house now, but I'll see what I can come up with later. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sean-izaakse In reply to xiaoniao [2011-05-23 06:40:39 +0000 UTC]

Yeah Dick is badass! And the only one who didn't get caught as well as being the one without powers booya!!

Well, aren't comics in some way, some kinda fantasy fulfillment for everyone really? Hehe! So I can't blame them. And maybe you just dislike Kory so much that it makes everything seem less noticable, so even the smallest character moment of hers seems so much bigger to ya? It's just a thought Don't shoot me, I'm just sayin
I'm sure there were some issues without her you could pick up that were awesome anyway! Besides, I always thought Dick and Donna shoulda hooked up (this was before Roy and Donna had chemistry of course)

Haha, cool cool. You do what you gotta do hun. But yeah, hope to see somethin from you later

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xiaoniao In reply to sean-izaakse [2011-05-23 11:42:24 +0000 UTC]

No no, you've got it all backward. I don't notice Kory's 'small moments' because I hate her; I hate her because of her 'small moments', among other reasons. And I can assure you, those moments are not small, either. They're everywhere, and they're highly unnecessary and obviously put in just because Wolfman and Perez have sexual fantasies about her, and indulge in her way too much. I can even give you specific examples, if you don't believe me. Scans and all.

You've never read the Fab Five comics, have you. Because Roy and Donna were exhibiting sexual tension looooooooooong before Wolfman and Perez ever wrote that Dick had feelings for her other than that of a sibling nature. Roy was Donna's first serious romantic interest, in fact. She even said to the other Titans, before Speedy officially joined (they had just met him for the first time, and he'd sent a 'I hope we can kick bad guy ass together again sometime' letter, prompting them all to give an opinion on him): 'He's cute. Cuter than any of you characters.' The only other boys who made it obvious that they were vying for Wonder Girl's attention, in fact, were Kid Flash and Hawk. Roy even punched Hawk in the face for essentially trying to 'steal' Donna.

sean-izaakse In reply to xiaoniao [2011-05-23 11:53:51 +0000 UTC]

Haha, no no, I believe you. It's like Deadpool, I'm not a fan of him, but I'll still read X-force for the other characters cos I dig them But thats me.

Nope, I honestly only started reading the Perez/Wolfman Titans and none before that so I totally didn't know about the Roy/Donna thing. Wow, that's good to know!!

WHAT!!! When did Roy punch Hawk!!? Thats so cool, I never saw that! Thats very cool cos I'm also a fan of Hawk.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xiaoniao In reply to sean-izaakse [2011-05-23 23:43:36 +0000 UTC]

Why don't you like Deadpool? He's a rather popular Marvel character isn't he? Him and his self-aware, fourth-wall-breaking habits and comments.

Yep. Roy and Donna were eyeing each other years before Wolfman and Perez screwed everything up. As much as I love the Wilson family -- I give them credit for that, at least, if nothing else -- I'm afraid their good deeds with the Wilsons don't make up for their horrible (and oftentimes nasty) deeds with the Titans. My opinion.

Hell, yes. Roy punched Hawk in the face hard enough to knock him down for having literally snatched Wonder Girl up in his arms and run off with her earlier. Roy was furious. In fact, his direct dialogue was, 'Just one lovin' minute, bird boy. Wonder Chick goes with me! You've been asking for this! *Punches him out*' Mmmh, Roy is such a male.

And yeah, I like Hank, too. He's awesome.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sean-izaakse In reply to xiaoniao [2011-05-24 08:27:41 +0000 UTC]

I don't like him cos that fourth wall crap gets old really REALLY fast. And some writers force him to be funny. It's like, "Hey it's Deadpool so he must be funny." Um, no, he's funny cos he can be funny nt cos he must be. Does that make sense?
Actually he's written really well i Uncanny X-force, but that's probably the only place I'll read something with him in. Cos he's written like a crazy person that makes light of messed up situations, so he's great as a morbidly funny character.

Oh cool, that's awesome!! Do you know which issue that happens in??
Hank is cool, Hawk & Dove so need their own series. Expect some fan art from me of those two in the near future.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xiaoniao In reply to sean-izaakse [2011-05-24 09:42:49 +0000 UTC]

I suppose I can understand that. Honestly, I don't know Deadpool well enough to have an opinion of him one way or the other -- I suppose I like him all right from the issues I've read with him. All two of them.

Oh gods, I couldn't tell you what issue that is...though I certainly would if I could. It's from my big Showcase trade paperback, and it's hard to tell issue numbers and covers in there. Though, you should just buy the Fab Five trades. They're worth it. They're silly Silver Age fun oftentimes, yes, but you have to accept the Silver Age for what it is. Sometimes it's nice to go back to the goofy, campy times in the comics and take a break from all the graphic content and drama in them nowadays.

Cool! I do hope it's Hank and Don and not Hank and...um...Dawn.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sean-izaakse In reply to xiaoniao [2011-05-24 15:22:15 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yeah. I'd rather recommend much better books than Deadpool for you to read.

Ah cool, I haven't seen those Showcases around this side. I have seen some Aquaman ones though hehe

WHAT!! Gasp!!
Dawn is awesome - and HAWT!!! It's totally gonna be Hank and Dawn. Don so doesn't rate for me. He's better off as a motivational element, like how Jason was for Bruce (before he came back of course.) But Dawn makes a way cooler Dove imo

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xiaoniao In reply to sean-izaakse [2011-05-24 16:11:31 +0000 UTC]

It's not that I don't like Dawn. Honestly, I don't know her character well enough to dislike her, so I'm...okay with her? I just happen to know Don better, and I like him more because he was the original -- plus, I adore brother relationships, so he and Hank as the classic Hawk and Dove duo is just much better to me.

Don't just draw pinup style artwork. Tell stories, it forces you to draw everything. the sooner you get good at that, the better.
Also, try googling the Joe Kubert art school, they have some great comic courses for you, I couldnt take them cos I dont stay in the US, but you've got a shot.
