I've been sitting on this for a while and finally decided to post this, after searching for the source image of the model wherein.

This was a final project for a computer art class I took last semester, after I learned some techniques in photo manipulation using Photoshop CS5.

The background is a mash-up of four images of outdoor imagery, blended together primarily by using masks and a soft round brush of various sizes. The Hippogriff was created from three separate images and the woman was cut from a stock photo found here in deviantArt. The aura effect was created using a couple of smoke brushes with inner and outer glow effects applied.

Though I see some flaws, I am particularly happy about this considering the fact that my original idea fell apart and I pulled an all-nighter to get this completed in time. Total time outside of searching for images, 10 hours.
