Lacewing ushered the three dragonets to safety, ducking into a maintenance hallway in order to avoid any raiders. Though it meant leaving her trainee, Shisuan, behind to deal with potential raiders, the older dragoness was more than sure that they would be capable of fending off any attackers with the other Alliancers present. She carefully hovered her wings over the terrified dragonets and crooned to them-- soon, safety would be had, and they would be reunited with their parents.

She had scarcely stepped past an opening into a neighborhood when another LeafWing, streaked with scarlet patterns, barreled through the opposing entrance. He frantically scanned Lacewing, and equally as frantically, leapt into the air to attack. Quickly, she drew an emerald throwing knife and deftly sent it through his right wing membrane. He collapsed, clutching his injured limb.

The two stared at each other for a long moment, waiting for the other to move first. Instinctively, she drew her wings closer to the crying dragonets. Something, however, flashed in the raider's eyes.

". . . Rangers?! Wait, I didn't know they called for you guys!" He scrambled to all fours and scampered back down the hallway. "I'm not going to jail again!"

Lacewing listened to his talonsteps clack against the hardwood before she processed his words. Although it had been nearly two decades since she had last been a Ranger, something familiar about the LeafWing rung from her memory. She thought that she might have seen his wanted poster on some village board deep within the Poison Jungle-- but then again, the investigations department hadn't been her area of expertise.

Still, though, remained the question: why were a not-insignificant amount of LeafWing criminals at the supposedly SilkWing raid? And what, or who, sent them here?

small blurb with a low effort quest because my tablet is nonfunctional 😓 unfortunately i'm away at college and won't be getting the charging cord back for another two-ish weeks, sooooo procreate it is! i think the textures are great and i LOVE the sketching brushes but it is definitely not my choice of program to make finished pieces
