Nancy tried to pull the gag off but it wouldn’t come free. What was happening? A wave of dizziness swept over her and she suddenly found herself transported to a sinister graveyard. A sudden snarl made her whirl around in terror but she could see nothing. Heavy panting and a vicious growl from an unseen creature nearly paralyzed her. She began running. Not thinking, not seeing, just running. Trying to escape whatever was chasing her. But one tombstone made her stop. Her face blanched when she read the name on it. All the strength in her legs gave up and she sank to her knees. Were these her final moments at last?
“No.” Nancy’s thoughts felt like lost possessions she had to find. “No. This…this isn’t real. It can’t be real. It has to be a dream. Wake up, Nancy. Wake up. Please!”
In a tiny corner of her subconscious, she seemed to be imagining voices, far away.
“As you see, only 10 milligrams in the blood stream and the subject can be made to see, feel, hear, and experience anything there are told too. I take it the field tests meet with your approval?”
“Better than any of us hoped for.”
“Good. Now, to the price…”
