The son of Nyota (Junior) and a rogue. Also the grandson of Askari, and the second king of the Sun-Lands.

Aslan grew up as a spoiled Prince, who believed in 'Lions over all'. Growing up as the queen's only child, he always had doting lionesses ensuring he was always comfortable.
After his mother died from a disease, Aslan took the throne. He was mad that the Pridelands could keep the Roar of the Elders, even though he was a descendant of Askari, who founded it. Aslan took in a made from the pride, Ramal.
Ramal fell ill while carrying Aslan's cub, and died after giving birth, leaving Aslan with a daughter, Jalia. Aslan was horrified. He wanted male heirs. He did not care that his mother, the founder of his kingdom, was female. Aslan declared a new law. The Sun-lands could only have male rulers.
There was an outcry from Aslan's subjects, which caused Aslan to take the law back. But he decided that he couldn't have a female heir.

The golden lion wandered the desert for days, searching for a teenaged rogue who could become his heir. He ended up finding a cub his daughter's age. He was next to the corpse of a lioness, probably the cub's mother. Aslan watched in glee as the cub cried. He had an heir.
Aslan trained the cub, who he named Surajah, to be the future king. Meanwhile, Jalia grew up in neglect. Aslan betrothed Jalia to Surajah. Everything was going perfectly, in his mind.

Aslan would later be killed by a coalition of teenage lions, who wanted to kill a king or a queen, just for the fun and risk.
