Description
The PillarsThere’s a room inside my mind
A room of life and death
Seven Pillars stand tall and proud
Saving me from the ceilings collapse
The four Outer Pillars are older
Facing North, East, South and West
The three Inner Pillars are newer
More supportive than the rest
Pillar of the North – The Mother:
Strong and standing till the end
Not even if I asked it to
Would this Pillar ever bend
Pillar of the East – The Grandmother:
The coldest of them all
The marble feel
And cold heart of steel
Keep it standing even when it should fall
Pillar of the South – The Council
The light within the darkness
The glow of its love
Its power to heal
Is something no other can harness
Pillar of the West – The Child
Innocent and care-free
Filled with love
And ever present
Is there any other way to be
The three nearest Pillars
The Inner Group
Are the strongest of them all
Up this close and personal
Their reach is far beyond ‘tall’
The Pillar to my Left – My Brother
Unyielding and respected
His faith in me
Is all I need
Our bond cannot be tested
The Pillar to my Right – My Sister
Loving and protective
She would destroy the world
To see me smile
A fair price in her own perspective
The Pillar to my back – My Past
From beginning to seconds ago
Both friends and enemies
Good memories and bad
A part of me I cannot let go
These Pillars are my sanity
The reasons I need to go on
I fear should these Pillars ever die
That I too shall soon be gone
For the man you know will be long gone
A distant whisper in the night
He will be dead
He will be far
Out of memory
And out of sight
