I didn’t end up creating a background of Vlad’s lab but after redoing one of my bases it seemed like the perfect time to portray this story concept scene from an extension of my Danny Program AU written by DP-Marvel94:

But at the same time, Daniel is overwhelmed, his expression becoming distressed. He….he might be an actual proper clone. Because he pretty much absorbed the other clones. Despite not actually needing the breath, the boy starts hyperventilating.

Vlad notices and tries to put his hand on Daniel’s arm but it falls through. Daniel’s face falls at the outcome but Vlad looks between his hand and Daniel’s arm thoughtfully. Furrowing his brow, he turns his hand intangible. Slowly it moves forward until someone, impossibly Vlad’s hand wraps around Daniel’s arm.

The boy gasped. “You’re…you’re touching me. I can feel that.” His head whips up to Vlad’s face. “I can feel your hand. You’re touching me. Father, you’re touching me.”

The man laughs. “You’re stuck intangible.” He shakes his head. “Your signature is too weak to manifest a full body so the projector is helping you. But you appear to be stuck in intangibility.”

Daniel blinks, taking in the information, before he wraps arms around his father. The man turns completely intangible and, occupying the same level of reality, the two can finally touch.

Daniel is crying. “Father.”

Vlad ruffles his hair. “I am so sorry son. I am sorry I did not see you before. But you are real.” He whispers. “I promise you are real. I wish I deserved your love but I will strive to be worthy of your affection, my boy.” He steps back, putting his intangible hands on Daniel’s face.

Daniel smiles at him. “I forgive you, Father.”
