Actually, Capcom is kinda aiming for some "similarity matchups".
First they added "the main characters" (Ryu & Nina), and "main heroines" (Chunners and Nina).
Yet now for some reason they only add one part of each "similarity matchup". Like we already got Bob, so he could fight Rufus (well, they're both clones of Cheng Sinzan anyway). The other possible matchups include King-El Fuerte, Marduk-Zangief, Sagat-Bruce, Hworeang-Juri, etc.
But in the end, we'll just have to wait and see

welll there rivalries have already been confirmed.Zangief is not gonna b in for Marduk cuz Abel is Marduk's rival.And Julia's ival is Cammy.

The only rival for Zangief that makes sense is Kuma. Zangief trains by fighting bears.

The "rival" concept is one thing, yet the "similarity matchup" is another.
The idea is to bring characters who have some sort of similarity into the same game, yet not necessarily as rivals
But then again, things can always change, eh...

T.Hawk and Julia r indians so yeah they are similar but i am not a fan of T.Hawk but marduk...
I see some similarities between marduk and Julia...Both are tanned,and if u noticed.marduk ocket has the same feathers as the feathers on Julia's hair
So i dont pair them,i dont pair any characters but i want Marduk and Julia to be Buddies

Well, neither do I nor Capcom... like I said, the concept of the "similarity matchups" is to have character with some similarities from both companies
So when Capcom decided to include Julia, they were thinking about a similar character in their own franchise, hence they chose T.Hawk cause he's an Indian like Julia, NO pairings or other relationships intended, just 2 characters from both companies, who have something in common, nothing more

Camy's "similarity matchup" is supposed to be Anna, but like I said, it can all change, and Capcom might still ditch the whole "similarity matchup" idea
(though I really would like to see T.Hawk, Anna or Juri make it in... and Abel's matchup is supposed to be Dragunov, which I would be glad to see, and then there's supposed to be a Balrog-Steve matchup coming up... so yeah, I'd be pretty downed if Capcom didn't include at least some of these

well those matchups r talking abt are obvious and everybody thinks abt them but they arent as what people thought like marduk vs zangief julia vs T hak or steve vs balrog.
I can pretty much see that.Kazuya was supposed to have a rivalry with Akuma and yet he is rival with Ryu.

Well, Kazuya may still have a rivalry with Akuma, he's only "matched-up" with Ryu because both of them are main characters of their respective series. But like I said, the "similarity matchup" desn't have anything to do with rivalries
As for the rival battles themselves, it's said that each character will have 2 optional ones, one against a character from the opposing franchise, and one against a character from their own franchise, but this hasn't been confirmed yet, so feel free to take it as a rumor.

Personally i dont think there r gonna be any matchups like u r saying....Maybe there cud be one but it will b two new characters from tk and sf.

Well, we already have 2 of these (Ryu-Kazuya & Chunners-Nina), so I'm still not losing hope for the other ones, more so since it were the guys from Capcom who said about those "similarity matchups"
