When I was a filly, Cadence was my foalsitter. I skinned my knees many times back then, and Cadence would use her magic to place a bandaid on it. I remember quite clearly what her magic aura was. It was Blue!

Simple, if she took too long with imprisoning Cadense away from Canterlot, there would be too much suspision of the princess' absence. Also, the barrier would have been up by the time she could find a place far enough away to hide the princess.
