Queen Chrysalis use her changeling magic to trnasform into Princess Mi Amore Cadenza.... the motive?, equestria have more love that any other land... her kind need love to survive or to grown strong so they can invade... Celestia and Luna saw this comming so they asked Shinning Armor to create the most powerful magic shield, capable to repel magics attacks, physical attacks, all kind of mistical creatures... and changelings.
with the Shield up, the only way she could enter... is with her disguse... she transform into a normal pony, when she was inside... she transformed into Cadance and send the real one to that mine maze, with the real one gone... she planed to marry shinning armor and destroy his shield little by little by taking his love for cadance.... but the only pony who manage to know that she was a Fake, was Twilight sparkle, so before she could act, she send her to the mase also

Stormy: it was all part of the plan... if she was discovered before she could actually marry Shinning armor... her race would have been targeted of Celestia Army... mostly because with the power of the love of shinning, she could have overpowered celestia, making her the new ruler of Equestria, This would trigger war between ponies and changeling
