Lacus and Mia

Description:
In 2005, a 91 Mazda Miata named Mia was given to Lacus as a gift after both she and her then life partner, Seif, went through several ordeals that almost split them apart.

Though Mia was a bit cautious of Lacus' abilities as a driver, she quickly opened up to her after seeing her positive attitude and kindness. Over time, their skills grew together, both teaching one another and helping the other overcome their weaknesses in both racing as well as general life.

While it was believed among the team that the two would be able to surpass Seif and his own Volkswagen in racing skills, that would never come to pass as, 8 years later, Lacus would choose to break up from Seif after it was shown that his heart still belonged to his first true love. This ordeal left Mia in a bind to where, after a very difficult choice, she decided to follow Lacus back to her own world. It is unknown what has happened since then, but one can only hope that Lacus has found the opportunity to occasionally drive the Roadster, despite the environment in her world not being ideal for gas powered vehicles...

Artist Description:
I've had the urge to redo my Team CDRX collection for quite some time now (which is, in very simple terms, a crossover between my favorite anime characters/my persona and the cars they drove in my fanfiction I wrote about 20 years ago now). Since I'm still in a partial Miata mood, I decided to go ahead and finally tackle this and draw Lacus.

Lacus has always been one of the most difficult characters to draw, and I'd be a liar if I didn't say I used some references to help draw her in this case. But even ignoring that, I'm pretty happy with the way this turned out.
