Titanic had three elevators in first class located forward of the Grand Staircase. They were ornately decorated with mirrored walls and a glass ceiling! Here you see the Countess of Rothes and her cousin, Gladys Cherry preparing to descend to their cabins. The lift operator is 16-year old Alfred King. None of the bell boys or lift operators survived.
