Windchime was born in Cloudsdale, but moved to Ponyville for a quiet life, where she eventually met Peppermint. She's always had trouble breathing in the oxygen around her, so she has to wear a muzzle with special filters in order to breathe. When the filters need to be changed, or when she needs to eat, she has to enter a bubble that pumps in filtered air.
