From the moment she arrived with the rest of the lionesses she knew. All she needed to do was take one look at Kovu and she knew. It made so much sense to her now, Zira even during Scars reign hadn't been this unhinged and she remembered finding the body of her friend hyenas dead around her. She though the hyenas had eaten the cub, there was barley any scent left but when she saw Kovu she knew it was her friends son he had Zera's eyes. Zira had taken him in, raising her grandson as her own and it seemed everyone else believed he was hers. And in that moment when it was over as Zira took Kovu she couldn't help but pity Zira. The lioness had known what Scar what *she shuddered* her father had done, used it to her advantage but Zira had also been a mother during that time she may have been cruel at times but Zera had always been the one to keep her mother tame, and Zira had lost her. And for that Nala could not fualt her, she spent the night and next day wondering what to do. Maybe if she could convince Zira show her kindness chance her back to how she had once been maybe this would be over. She made a decision, she lied to her mate saying she was taking Kiara on a walk to the hunting grounds to teach her about the prey. What she was really doing actually suprised Kiara when her mother told her, her plans. Zira wasn't happy of course how dare the mate of the one responsible for her pain come to her. Of course she could have easily killed Nala but she made Zira a deal. To let her and Kiara visit and she'd let Zira have one kill from the pridelands Nala would even bring it herself. In a place like the outlands the deal was taken, nala hoped she could help Zira stop her madness. For she couldn't blame her pride for their hate but she had to try, for Zera.

As nala watched her daughter play with Vitani, she could only gaze at Kovu she would hope he would stay safe he would escape Zira's wicked plans or maybe she could save him by changing his grandmother's mind. The queen kept her secret, and in the end she could only hope Zera could help her mother in the afterlife for the things her father had done had hurt so many.
