“What do you want me to wear?” He could hear the uncertainty in his voice.
So, it wasn’t surprising that Ty had heard it too. He turned Sam away from the closet, “why would you ask?”
His frustration was clear, “don’t read into that. Just answer. What do you want me to wear?”
Ty’s look of question intensified making him uncomfortable.
The breath moving out of his lungs was meant to calm. It was his fault for asking. He held Ty’s wrists, gathering his courage to make eye contact. As warm hands continued to hold his neck, he caved, “I don’t care what they think of me. I care…about not involving myself in your family drama.”
Slow was the smile that came over Ty, “so adorable.”
“Shut-up,” he muttered petulantly.
“It doesn’t matter what you wear. My family is going to have drama no matter what you do. You can’t make it worse.” Ty eased the pressure, “you also can’t make it better, and I don’t want you to try.”
“I still don’t know what to wear,” he muttered softly. He continued to hold onto Ty’s wrists.
“I’m good with you wearing nothing,” he finally answered.
Amusement sparkled behind an attempt at annoyance, “that was my fault.”
Ty nodded, his roving gaze said that he was imaging things. With a grin, Sam pushed Ty’s face away. He turned back to the closet to make his selection.
