Lucky you! I held several small birds (mostly sparrows and 1 dove) in my hands but never a hummingbird.

i must say that to hold s hummingbird in your hands isa most beautiful experience. i held one once too...your photo is incredible! Why did it land there?

One time a hummingbird hit a window in our backyard and it almost got knocked out, but I went out and picked it up while it was still breathing, so I wrapped it in a cloth to give it some heat, and the little fellow sprung back to life and flew out of my hands so fast I almost didn't see it leave. This is a really nice shot!

my friends once found a baby hummingbird that had a hurt wing and they had no clue what to do with it, so they thought that i might know what to do since i have had pretty much any pet you can get. they brought it to my place and i got to hold it and i was able to give it some food but in the end i just told them to take it to a vet. but it was so cool to be able to handle such a small bird.

I've yet to hold one but I've hand-fed them before by holding their feeder. I've never seen a Rufous here either... Aww, it's so cute. Poor thing, I know it's in "good hands!" Ha! XD
