    UPDATE:

haha … my old chess-related posts seem insignificant now [as of this writing, January 8th, 2019]; since I've already moved up to playing StockFish 10 – at well over 3300 – and have beaten it 4 times out of only 292 games, wow!  That comes out to a (conservative) performance rating of 2541: or 'GrandMaster' (even after having deducted the applicable margins-of-error for both me and StockFish).  I suspect that's somewhat of a fluke though … considering the relatively small sample-size of games.

My rating against various versions of StockFish (from DD to 10, and after a much more statistically-significant total of 3,501 games) averages 2104 (top 3% of all players) or: solid Expert.  I also play around that level against you lowly humans – so I know it's accurate.
*yes, you*

I estimate that I've played 150,000+ computer games in the past 1/3 of a century – starting with ChessMaster 2000 way back in the late 1980's!  Coincidentally, my estimated performance-rating back then was 1541, exactly 1000 points weaker than the aforementioned 2541 … as I remember looking at the floppy-disk-drive model number of "1541" on my brother's Commodore 64 and saying to myself that that's about where I rate ….  Soon afterwards, I went on to prove it in official tournament competition – by achieving a provisional U.S.C.F. rating of 1622.

So … it has taken me over 3 decades just to gain less than 600 (unofficial) rating-points, haha; that's like 1 point every 3 weeks only.
*lowly human*

semi-surreal [2014-08-23 07:23:03 +0000 UTC]

This is my 3rd draw against StockFish 5 [which is the strongest-ever computer-chess program/opponent] -- in only 637 games!
That computes to a 2140 rating for me (2200 would be "master").

Once again, I drew it (tie game) per the "50-move-rule" -- after 127 total moves.  It almost ran out of time with only 1.6 seconds left!

I used 4 minutes and 29 seconds for my entire game.
Amazingly, all 16 pawns are still on the board in the final position.
