HK Chinese feels different from Singapore Chinese, at least grammar-wise, but I'm glad I was able to understand it - the monologue fits really well.

That must be written in cantonese (same old style character but slightly different grammar). Might feel like Singapore Chinese to you because it is not 100% true Chinese (if you know what I mean).
