Random Event Part 5:
The mare swallows hard at your words, but quickly shakes off her dismay, and nods. "Alright, just make it quick."
It takes longer than you imagine she'd hoped, but you manage to get the mare out of the hole, and standing again. "Whew, I'm so glad to be on my feet again." But when she applies pressure on the leg was in the earth moments ago, she flinches and whimpers. "It's really sore, I don't think I can travel right away." She looks at you and says her next words with an air of hesitancy: "Would you mind, maybe, if I stayed with you? I promise I'll be able to run again soon."
What do you say to that?
A) What a liability, no thanks
-> **B) Of course! She's welcome in your herd** <--
:: Story ::
Thoren could see the hesitancy within the mare's facial features, blue eyes narrowed and brows furrowed at his words. She obviously had a very hard time trusting anything other than herself, which slightly piqued the stud's interest in her, and her story. Of course, he always fell for the troubled or ‘in need of help’ type of horses, something ingrained within himself from his mother and father. "Alright, just make it quick." The mare nodded, finally accepting the help of the stranger stallion. “ Of course..” his deep voice was laced with truth and softness, making sure to step light towards her form, before rounding the back of her and to the other side. They were now parallel, his head leaning down so that she could use his stability for her own. Swiftly, she placed her head against his neck before leaning almost her whole weight against him, lifting both front legs up and out in hopes to pop her leg from the hole. It took quite a lot longer than either of them anticipated, but after a bit of struggle, she finally was able to stand and pull her leg free at last.
"Whew, I'm so glad to be on my feet again." The mare sighed deeply, letting a small snort escape her as the frustration started to dissipate. Her form began moving forwards as if to test her newfound ability, only for it to be cut short with a sudden wince of pain. "It's really sore, I don't think I can travel right away." Her voice was once again laced with a sense of despair and frustration, only moments ago she was free only to be weighed down with the aftermath. There was a small pause between the two, the mare's face contorting into a small frown before looking in his hazel eyes with her own. “ you… wouldn't mind staying with me for a while would you?...”
Thoren could only watch with a small bit of anguish at her failed attempt to leave the foliage of the forest, taking a hesitant step towards her in hopes that his presence gave even the smallest comfort. “ Of course, I will stay with you. Let us slowly move up the small hill there..” His eyes trailed to a small grassy dome, easy enough for her to walk up without overworking her sore leg. Though he knew with the new smell of blood in the winds, along with her own sounds of distress, it was not safe.
“ I promise…I'll be gone soon…You said you had another herd member and all..”
Thoren only nodded at her voice, though it did not bother him at all to watch over her until she was comfortable to move freely on her own. “ There is no rush miss…Take your time.” He spoke as soft as his deep voice would allow, giving her a small smile in an attempt to calm her nerves.
“ You can call me Kyris…” She in turn gave him a small smile, trying to hold her pain together as they slowly made their way up the hill. “It's a pleasure Kyris. My name is Thoren..”
