His name comes from the micromaster of the same name in the g1 version. But when that micromaster was sold as a target exclusive multipack he was renamed Irontread. For trademark reasons. He has the same C.O.M.B.A.T system, which he can come apart cane become armor or weapons for a figure in the siege and/or earthrise line can use. Also as part of the A.I.R lock system he can connect to other transformers that form base and connect to transformers that have can connect to it too. Like earthrise Optimus Prime's trailer in battle station mode has a part that can connect to it to make whole cities/bases.
