Aberrant (n) also: “Aberration”:
An Artificial Intelligence system which has, within the confines of its own programming, managed to act in a harmful or dangerous way unintended and unforeseen by its designers. Specifically, an AI application which is acting logically and within its design to the best of its ability. The unintended behavior is entirely due to human incompetence.
A short cautionary tale done as a writing exercise because I've been out of practice for about five years. This started as an attempt at doing a NaNoWriMo, but the plotting on its own took the entire month of November. My goals were to come up with and then execute a relatively complicated plot in a relatively short package. In this case, I managed about 20 pages as of this first draft. Fair warning: it escalates rather quickly due to its short form.
Not without issues, I'm sure, but I think this was overall a largely successful exercise.
This was done to get me back into shape to work on my main project, SOULLESS.
